Pushing Back the Darkness
Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them (Ephesians 5:11)
Today is June 1, the beginning of a month that conservatives have learned to dread for years: Pride month, the pagan celebration of depravity symbolized by the stolen rainbow.
In recent years, I’ve reposted my reviews on godly identity books, which you can see here and here. Christ followers must make concerted efforts to train our children to think biblically about their identity and expose the lies of our culture.
Yet, living on the Left Coast, it is easy for me and many others to give up hope of turning the cultural tide, but in some parts of the nation, it is happening. The Washington Stand reports that some states have declared God-honoring celebrations for June, such as Tennessee declaring June “Nuclear Family Month.”
Corporate America has also stepped back under pressure from the people through boycotts, especially after the Bud Light moment. Thus, Pride events across the country have been scaled down.
We can also rejoice that the 2022 Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade. Let us celebrate life, not death, in June.
Let us not grow weary in standing firm in Christ and holding back against the darkness of our age. Instead, we must shine Christ’s light and expose the wickedness and rescue those held captive to Satan’s lies.
